What is Healed Black Girl?
Healed Black Girl is a movement (est. July 1, 2025) created to counter the harmful messaging behind the “Strong Black Woman” identity. This identity—rooted in history dating back to slavery and reinforced over generations—tells Black women they must suppress their emotions, care for everyone else, and be hyper-independent at all costs.
But that way of living leads to stress—chronic stress—which is a major contributor to heart disease, the number one killer of Black women.
We want to help save Black women’s lives by supporting their healing.
And the first step toward healing is understanding what it is and how it can help.
That’s what we’re here for. -

Is Healed Black Girl a therapy space?
No, Healed Black Girl is not a therapy space, and we do not provide therapy or any medical or clinical services.
However, it is a gentle, supportive space for those on their healing journey. Right now, we offer words of comfort, letters of encouragement, and messaging designed to uplift and inspire. While it's not therapy, it is deeply therapeutic for many.
We hope to grow into something bigger—eventually offering healing-centered events, workshops, and more.

What does it mean to be a “Healed Black Girl”?
A Healed Black Girl is someone who has found inner peace and relief from past emotional wounds and traumas. Healing looks different for everyone—it’s not one-size-fits-all. Some express it through softness, some through boundaries, some through joy or rest.
We believe healing is a journey, not a destination.
Follow us on Instagram @healedblackgirlmovement to see how healing shows up in different ways—and how you might define it for yourself.

Do I have to be healed to be part of this?
Not at all. You are welcome here exactly as you are.
We will support you. We will encourage you. We will love you. This movement exists to offer tools, community, and connection as you walk your healing path—wherever you're starting from.
That said, depending on where you are in your journey, we strongly encourage you to seek support from trained professionals—whether that’s a therapist, spiritual leader, pastor, or another trusted guide. Healing deserves support, and you don’t have to do it alone.
